About Who Farted?

Who Farted? is a daily logic puzzle with a very silly premise. An elevator is stuck between floors, someone farted, and everyone swears it wasn't them. Each person makes one statement, and the culprit always lies. Your job is to work out whose story doesn't hold up.

It's the classic knights-and-knaves liar puzzle, dressed up for a crowded elevator. A new puzzle opens every day, it gets harder from Monday to Sunday, and every one is checked by a solver so there's exactly one answer and you never need to guess.

How to Crack It Faster

A few habits that turn staring at five statements into a quick catch.

Test one suspect at a time
Pretend someone did it. Their statement has to be false and everyone else's has to be true, except on innocent-liar days, when exactly one other statement is false too. The first contradiction clears them.
Start with accusations of lying
“Rosa is lying” links two people. When only the culprit lies, one of them must be guilty, which cuts the list fast.
Don't forget the dog
On Wednesdays Biscuit is in the elevator. He never says a word, and sometimes that's exactly why it was him.

Today's Elevator Is Above

The doors reset at midnight. Catch the culprit before they get away.
